I'm Elena from ForeverCurious  We are a group of librarians and educators who are curating and creating the best educational resources for kids on the web. Our next piece is a series of lesson plans using genealogy as a way to teach students about history.  I came across your great list of resources here while working on our next piece. Thank you! I thought maybe your site might also benefit from some of these other resources you may have missed. Thanks for all you do

In August 2022 I received this information with a link from a reader of this page

" I am a library media specialist  in Rutland County Vermont, I wanted to thank you for putting together your collection of genealogy resources on your web page!

For the month of August, our library is teaming up with our local Historical Society to host a special 'Genealogy Research' workshop. We did this last summer and it was a huge success! The introductory course teaches our members how to find and analyze sources, discover different research strategies, and tackle genealogy databases. They'll explore the main source types including civil, church, census and military records and learn how to use these different kinds of data. We'll also be covering DNA testing and teaching them how to create a family tree!

I'm compiling a resource guide for the attendees and I have some student volunteers assisting me. Your page led us to some fantastic information to incorporate, so my students requested I reach out and let you know how much you've helped us :)

As a thank you, I wanted to pass along this 'Researching Your Family's History from Ships Passenger Lists' guide my student Amanda found. Amanda was very excited to share it with you! She thought it might help other families on their history quests! Will you let me know if you're able to include it for her? I know Amanda would be thrilled to see she could help! She's really enjoyed tracing her own family tree! Thanks again!"

In December 2022 I received this information that maybe of assistance to readers - " I think this collection of world history resources would make a perfect companion to your other resources listed

In April 2023 I received this link for a collection of genealogy resources . It's a curated list of 25 resources ranging from specialized archives and databases to online tools and communities. There's something here for every genealogist looking to expand their knowledge and expertise, including hidden gems like the Genealogy Gophers search engine and the American Ancestors database.

In May 2023 I received this email from a reader of this page

I would just like to say a quick word of thanks! As a youth services librarian and educator, I've been running a fun beginner's historic research and genealogy class over the last few months, and I thought you might enjoy hearing that we were able to get some great use out of your genealogy resource links list. We were even able to use some of this information for our most recent group project. Thanks so much for sharing!
I hope you don't mind, one of our youngest, Anna has also asked me if I could share a piece that she and her mother found together which we've begun referencing as a group on Genealogy and Family History Research. I've included it below if you'd like to review!

We noticed you don't have this one listed yet, but Anna was actually the one to bring up that this could be something you might like to include for any other young historic research enthusiasts who may also be coming across your information and have an interest in learning more about their family history during their down time, like our group!

If you find you are able to add this one to your list, would you please let me know? We're meeting tomorrow, and I would absolutely love to surprise Anna and the group if you're able to do so - I'm hoping to keep spirits up in light of the past few years' challenges, and I think it would make her proud to know she was able to pay it forward and maybe even show her mother her contribution if it ends up being included! Thanks again for all your help here Chris, Stacey Martin

In September 2023 this resource was forwarded to me

"I came across a great index of global newspapers https://www.websiteplanet.com/blog/complete-index-of-newspapers-across-the-globe/ . This is a list that was updated in the past few days. I read a lot of similar guides before, but this one is quite thorough, and I've found it to be rather useful.

Two months later, in November 2023 I received this information from a reader of this page

"I think this collection of Genealogy resources would make a perfect addition there! It's a curated list of 22 genealogy resources from history and DNA research resources to message boards to genealogy podcasts and more. I really think it would make a great addition to your page.

In January 2023 I received this information from a reader of this page

"We've just created an excellent guide guide to help people who getting started in tracing their European roots, with resources for each country to help with the search. I'd love for you to take a look at it - https://ourpublicrecords.org/europe-family-records/ "

In November 2024 I received an email from a reader of the site whose son Ben is researching his family history and also acquiring knowledge so that he can attain a Boy Scouts genealogical badge. Ben used some of the links on this page and also referred me to another resource.

"Ben was also hoping you could check out this additional resource: https://www.aiprm.com/education/ai-for-genealogical-research/

It's a little different than the other resources he's seen as it's all about AI and genealogy. He thinks it would be awesome for people wanting to explore the topic! He would be so excited if you were able to add it to your Genealogical page. & I know his troop leader would be very proud of him for going above and beyond."

In February 2025 I received this information from a researcher

""Thanks for sharing your genealogy resources! Our student center's staff have been revamping our Ancestry & Family History collection, and the research tools you listed were just what we were looking for! We really appreciate all the help! Have you seen this guide to starting your family history research? www.croatiancitizenshipbydescent.com/croatian-descent-how-to-start-family-history-research/

My assistant Ana was the one to show me it and thought it would be helpful to other families who are just beginning to research their family lineage! I'm sure you're busy, but could you take a minute to add it to your Genealogical Websites/References page?
This is Ana's first few months working at our library, so I would be delighted to show her what a help she's been - not only to us, but to others outside of our community! Please get back to me when you have a chance... I'll be working with Ana on Friday and I'd love to surprise her if it's possible!"

In May 2025 I received this content that may prove useful to readers

"I am Dorothy Hall. and I'm an educator for homeschooling students, and we have found your resource links page invaluable for our class.

I wanted to share a resource that one of my students, Gloria, found particularly insightful: From Ancestry to Archives: How Libraries Are Revolutionizing Family Tree Research

Would you consider adding it to your resource page? I believe it would be a relevant addition for your readers. Thank you for your time and consideration—I genuinely appreciate it!

A month later I received this information

"You've compiled a wonderful list of genealogy and family history research tools on your personal website. Thank you for making them available to fellow history enthusiasts!
