George (1891-1961) and Mabel Hemsworth (b1895-) nee Turner
GEORGE married MABEL TURNER in the September quarter of 1915 (GRO ref Ecclesall Bierlow Vol 9c Page 809) and had two children Mavis (GRO ref June 1920 Sheffield Volume 9c Page 1089) and Eric (GRO ref December Sheffield Volume 9c Page 818)

For many years I knew nothing about the family at all but in the autumn of 2012 when I was looking through an old scrapbook my late mother had kept when I found an old photograph of the family
The occasion is certainly a wedding and I would place it circa 1924. The child MAVIS looks about four years of age, and as there is no sign of ERIC born 1925, the date looks about right. Location is a bit more complex. The photograph is inscribed Mrs Swift Art Studio Millgate Selby which is in West Yorkshire and so the reasonable assumption is that the wedding was somewhere in that locality.
The only other photograph I came across was a later one of a rather thoughtful, winsome MAVIS
The 1939 National Register
A check on the Births, Marriages and Deaths Index revealed that MAVIS married a GEORGE A T GLENN in the December quarter of 1946 -
