ROBERT WILLIAM MARSHALL (1817-1889) - SHEFFIELD PAPER MANUFACTURER

In 2008 I found details of my wife's great great grandparents marriage in St Philips Church, Shalesmoor, Sheffield in July 1869. The registers give the following details

MARSHALL, Mary Eliza (Spinster, age Full, ~, residing at Owlerton). Married Thomas Barlow MILLS, on July 5, 1869, by Creswell Roberts (Banns) at St Philips Church, Shalesmoor. Father's name is Robert William Marshall (Manufacturer). Married in the presence of Robert William Marshall, Henry Abdiel Rodgers.

MILLS, Thomas Barlow (Bachelor, age Full, Manufacturer, residing at Pitsmoor). Married Mary Eliza MARSHALL, on July 5, 1869, by Creswell Roberts (Banns) at St Philips Church, Shalesmoor. Father's name is Henry Mills (Manufacturer). Married in the presence of Robert William Marshall, Henry Abdiel Rodgers.

Thomas's bride was the daughter of Robert William Marshall (Manufacturer) who would have been my wife's great great great grandfather. And due to one of Sheffield's greatest catastrophe's I was able to piece brief parts of his life together
