SYDNEY JACKSON (1893-1916)
I posted an article on Christopher Thomas Jenkinson who was the brother in law of ETHEL JENKINSON, the person who is buried in the grave to the right. Adjacent to that grave is one for the JACKSON family

In front of the family grave is a CWGC headstone for SYDNEY
The CWGC states "Bombadier S Jackson of 46 Bannon Street, died of wounds [Sydney Jackson of the Royal Field Artillery, killed 2 Sep 1916, aged 23, son of Herbert and Ellen Jackson, of 46 Bannon Street, Crookes Moor, buried Crookes Cemetery].
The memorial inscription reads
JACKSON. In loving memory of Bombr Sydney Jackson, RFA, the dearly loved son of Herbert & Nellie Jackson, who died from wounds received in action September 2nd 1916, aged 23 years.
"Greater love hath no man than this"
Also Herbert Jackson, died July 13th 1956, aged 92 years. Ellen (Nellie) Jackson, died October 27th 1960, aged 92 years. Evelyn Jackson, died November 25th 1960, aged 71 years. Also Lawrence Alfred Jackson, died 28th March 1972.
[Sydney Jackson appears identical with Bombardier, 915, "B" Bty., 247th Bde., Royal Field Artillery, died Saturday 2nd September 1916, age 23. Son of Herbert and Ellen Jackson, of 46 Bannon St, Crookesmoor, Sheffield. ref HH. "C".4082.]

JACKSON, Eveline (Spinster, age 71). Died at Wharncliffe Hospital; Buried on November 30, 1960 in Consecrated ground; Grave Number 4082, Section HH of Crookes Cemetery, Sheffield.
JACKSON, Herbert (Retired, age 92). Died at 2 Concord Road; Buried on July 17, 1956 in Consecrated ground; Grave Number 4082, Section HH of Crookes Cemetery, Sheffield.
JACKSON, Laurence Alfred (~, age 71). Died at Royal Infirmary; Buried on April 13, 1972 in Consecrated ground; cremated. Grave Number 4082, Section HH of Crookes Cemetery, Sheffield.
Remarks: Cremated remains.
JACKSON, Sydney (Solder, age 23). Died at King George Hospital; Buried on September 7, 1916 in Consecrated ground; Grave Number 4082, Section HH of Crookes Cemetery, Sheffield. Remarks: Removed from London parish.

Unlike Christopher Jenkinson, Sydney was wounded in France and was then moved back to the UK where he died on his wounds in King George Hospital Waterloo London. His death in the UK meant that his body was passed back to the family who buried him in Crookes Cemetery.
His name appears on the Crookesmoor School Boys Roll of Honour
