The next reference I can find to George is in the National  Probate Register. George died on 10th September 1921 in Blackpool. He left an estate  valued at £145,000 in today's money

He must have been sorely missed. Nine years to the day since he died these memorials appeared in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph - Wednesday 10 September 1930

MEMMOTT.—Treasured memories of my dear husband, George Joseph (George) Memmott, who passed away September 10th. 1921. Worthy of everlasting love. —From his loving wife, Lily.
MEMMOTT —Sacred to the memory of my dear brother-in-law, George Memmott, who left this life September 10th, 1921. Always remembered by his sister-in-law, Gertie.
MEMMOTT.—In loving memory of our dear uncle, George Joseph Memmott (late Ranmoor), who passed away at Blackpool, September 10th, 1921. —From Gertrude and Fred.

But the next reference to the family he left behind is far more disturbing and tragic in many ways. The next report is from the Daily Independent dated 28th January 1928

Queens Drive Bispham Blackpool  - North Promenade

An inquest was held on 31st January in Blackpool and not surprisingly the inquest was adjourned for a fortnight. But the Coroner and the police were satisfied that there were no suspicious circumstances and ruled out any notion of foul play. The Daily Independent dated 1st February 1938 carried this report of the inquest

The Western Morning News and Daily Gazette dated Tuesday15th February 1938 carried this report of the re-convened inquest and noted that both sisters had died of natural causes.
