Fred's baptism record
1901 Census - Fred is the 10th entry on the schedule, the three year old son of Thomas and Mary Jane Shutt. Houghton Street was later renamed Thistle Street and ran from Spital Street to Montford Street.
Two photographs of FRED that were taken in different locations
In March 2008, whilst sorting through a box of old photos, I came across the following one which is the earliest photo of Fred I have come across. I would say that the photo was taken circa 1918 - 1919 when Fred was in the Royal Navy. This is a copy of his service record which I obtained in January 2016. It is interesting to note that the record gives his date of birth as 8th August 1897 when it should be 1898. My research with BMD revealed that FRED SHUTT was born in the September quarter of 1898 (Sheffield GRO Volume 9c Page 596).
The 1911 UK Census has the following information on Fred

The 1921 UK Census has Fred still living with his parents Thomas and Mary but later that year he married Violet - (Marriages Dec 1921 Mills Violet Fred Shutt Sheffield Volume 9c Page 1089)
In the inter war years Fred worked for the London & North Eastern Railway. This is a return from the London & North Eastern Railway dated 31st October 1939. It shows that Fred had been employed with them since 21st October 1919.
In September 2008 I received further information on Fred's brothers and sisters
