MARRIAGES

BEATRICE NOCKALLS the second eldest daughter married my grandfather's older brother HARRY HEMSWORTH in the March quarter of 1908 (GRO Ecclesall Bierlow Volume 9C Page468). Beatrice was 25 at the time of her marriage and was employed  as a Dressmaker (1901 Census). She was the daughter of MARTIN (1855 - 1937  ) and FANNY NOCKALLS nee ROBINSON (1860 - 1928). 

FANNY NOCKALLS was married in the December quarter of 1907 ( Sheffield GRO Ref Volume 9C Page875) at All Saint's Church, Pitsmoor, Sheffield. She married an ARTHUR RANDELL.

AGNES NOCKALLS may have married in the March quarter of 1909 (Sheffield GRO Ref Volume 9C Page644)

The GRO reference for Hannah is Sheffield Volume 9c Page430 in the December quarter of 1879.

As the 1881 Census indicates, Beatrice's father came from Norfolk where the surname NOCKALLS originates from. In fact the family can be traced back to a MARTIN NOCKALLS who was born in Norfolk in 1769. Her mother FANNY ROBINSON was born on 8th August 1860 in Sheffield and married MARTIN on 19th August 1879. (GRO ref Sheffield Volume 9C Page 457 - September 1879)

The family were still living in Powell Street in 1911

1911 Census for Martin and his son Richard. Richard was still a blacksmith.
