The photograph of my dad was taken in Blackpool circa 1940.
The above photograph was taken at my parents wedding and probably is the only one that shows my parents together with my grandparents. My parents divorced in 1977 after 26 years of marriage. I have also posted a few more photographs of the wedding on a separate page
The bridesmaid standing to the left of my father was my mothers best friend Joan Hemsworth (nee Bell) who died tragically of cancer on 30th August 1999 in Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield. Standing directly behind my father holding a baby (my cousin David) is my Aunt Betty and to her left is her husband and my mother's elder brother Jack (Hemsworth). My Aunty Betty died on 6th August 1979 after a long illness. After meeting at our wedding reception in June1980 my Uncle Jack and Joan became a married couple soon after but unfortunately my Uncle died suddenly on Friday 5th June 1987. He is buried along with his first wife Betty (nee Rolfe) in Intake Cemetery Mansfield Road Sheffield.

Hobbs (nee Hemsworth) Jean - Passed away peacefully in hospital May 31, 2011 aged 81. Dearly beloved mother and grandma. Funeral service on Wednesday June 8 at 2.00 p.m. St Peter's Church, Greenhill, Sheffield. Followed by interment at Abbey Lane Cemetery at 3.00 p.m. Deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
