HENRY (1890 - 1961) and EVELINE SIMPSON (1891 - 1975)

Henry SIMPSON was always known as HARRY and was the second son of JAMES and AMELIA SIMPSON. Eveline was the second daughter of GEORGE and MARTHA BARKER. They are my wife's maternal grandparents
Henry ( always known as HARRY ) and EVELINE married at St Bartholomew's Church, Burgoyne Road, Sheffield on 14th July 1909. The earliest photograph that the family have of Harry was taken whilst he was in the Army during the First World War. Unfortunately there are no details of his service record available and the photograph is not dated
The photograph that is shown below is marked on the reverse with the date "August 1939" the month before Second World War began.
The actual location of the first photograph was given on the reverse of that shown below. It states that the photograph was taken in August 1939 at "Ventnor Road Blackpool" which I assume must be the address of the house where the family were stopping for their holidays

The third photograph was taken many years later and again the location is not known.

HARRY died aged 71 on 8th September 1961 at his home in Dunella Road Wadsley Sheffield. At the time of his death he was suffering from Lung Cancer He was interred four days later at Wisewood Cemetery, Sheffield after a church service at the local church of St Polycarps, Malin Bridge. Sheffield
EVELINE died thirteen years later aged 84 on 22nd March 1975 in Lodge Moor Hospital Sheffield. The cause of death was given as 1.Uremia - Chronic Renal failure 2.Lumber Spondyloarthrosis. She was buried in Wisewood Cemetery Sheffield on 27th March 1975 where she joined her late husband HARRY
